Here is a little information on Shamrock last year as well as upcoming from our Vice President of Philanthropy, Michelle Boehm!
"Last year Liz, the former Vice President of Philanthropy, did a fantastic job with all things Shamrock, she had absolutely nothing to start with and created our event that will stick with our chapter for years to follow. My hopes for the coming year are to work closely with my Shamrock committee, CAB, Council, and the rest of the chapter in order to make this event even more successful this year. I hope that early planning, lots of public relations, and participation from the entire chapter will allow us to meet my goals."
Michelle also spoke about the difference between our two philanthropies, Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA) and Girl Scouts of the United States:
"While working with our Philanthropies, the main difference between our work with the Girl Scouts and for PCAA is our participation. While working with the Girl Scouts in the area, Kappa Deltas work directly hands on with the girls and act as the mentors to them. Our Shamrock event and other fundraising events that hold allow us to raise money that is then utilized by our local beneficiary and PCAA in order to help with treatment for those who have suffered from abuse, or prevention efforts to stop abuse before it occurs."
